Alternate Selections was a retrospective of sorts, a mixture of portions of several bodies of work. I had always wanted to install my odd bookworks in a functioning library, so when I was invited to exhibit in the Columbia College Library in 2007, I immensely pleased at their enthusiastic cooperation in allowing me to move away from the usual exhibition space into the library itself. I’m grateful to the Library for the experience; my sole regret was that it wasn’t possible to continue the installation into the stacks.
